Smithton man arrested during a traffic stop

At 7:10 Sunday night Sedalia Police observed two-vehicles driving very fast attempting to overtake each other. The officer stopped one of the vehicles driven by 23-year-old Radu B. Ciobanu of Smithton. A check through dispatch revealed Ciobanu was a revoked driver. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail where he was booked and released pending state charges of driving while revoked.

Street sign struck early Monday morning at 16th and Center

Monday afternoon the Sedalia Police Department was notified that a street sign was struck by a vehicle at 16th and Center around 12:30 Monday morning. The caller reported hearing a loud crash, and found the evidence that a car had struck the sign later that morning. There was no other information in the police report.

Female suspect arrested on a Pettis County warrant this (Tuesday) morning

Around midnight this Tuesday morning Pettis County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Brenda Turner on an outstanding warrant.

Casey’s Store in Green Ridge reports a gas drive off

Just before 10:30 Monday morning Pettis County Deputies took a gas drive off complaint from an employee of the Casy’s Store in Green Ridge. According to the Sheriff’s report someone pumped $24.40 worth of gas, and left without paying. The suspect has not been located at news time.
