Houstonia Community Club to Host Independence Day Bash

The Houstonia Community Club is planning to host the 5th Annual Independence Day Bash on Saturday, July 6.

The event begins in Downtown Houstonia  with a Patriotic Parade at 3:00 p.m. (lineup is at 2:45 p.m. at Granny Howard Park).

Other activities include a silent auction from 3 - 6:00 p.m., along with a car show at 3:30.

There will also be a baking contest at 4:00 p.m. for pies, cakes and cookies. The cost is $5.00 per entry.

A pie eating contest will also be featured for a $5.00 entry fee.

A talent show will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by Bingo at 7:00. Concessions will be available and games such as Horseshoes and a slip & slide will be set up as well. The evening will culminate with a fireworks show at dark.
