I was born Oct. 7, 1938 at Bothwell Hospital. I attended Washington Elementary and Smith-Cotton High School. I joined the United States Navy in 1955, and served on four WWll era Destroyers during my active career in the Navy. I am retired Navy with 24 years of service in the regular navy and the reserve force. I have worked in real estate sales, mobile home sales and a lot of laborer type jobs. I retired from Payless Cashways as a dock worker, and machine operator in 2001 when they went out of business. I have written columns for the Sedalia Democrat, and the Sedalia News Journal and two books “Unhurried Days” and “Looking Back Again.” I have worked in Radio for over 10 years as a newsman and on-air columnist. I have been married to Marlene (Yahne) Miller for 53 years, and we have three children, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. I am currently working on a fiction book of short stories.
